SERVICES AND CRITERIA

The Parent Port office is open Monday to Friday 9.00am to 2.00pm, and the Homecare Workers work between 9.00am and 4.00pm. The help given to a client on any day is to a maximum of three hours.

This service is free to the client, however we welcome donations. We are partly funded by Family and Community Services and the remainder comes from other funding agencies to whom we apply each year for operating expenses.

For assistance to be given, the family must live within the boundaries of the Parent Port group, and have pre-school children or be expecting a baby.

Assistance is given when there is:
• Family crisis
• Illness (non-contagious)
• Stress
• Exhaustion (sleep deprived)
• Post Natal Depression
• Medical or counselling appointments

Services provided
•Light housework
•Transport (for appointments as above)
•Childcare - while the mother rests or while attending counselling or appointments
•Preparation of a meal
•Laundry
